How do I install CUPS and manually assign an IP address to my Star Ethernet Printer via Terminal on Mac OS X? (Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard, Leopard)

Answer

The PDF in the Downloads section of this FAQ details how to install the CUPS driver and manually assign an IP address to a Star Micronics Ethernet Printer on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.7 Lion, 10.6 Snow Leopard, and 10.5 Leopard.

Setting the IP Address via Terminal should be done if DHCP is not enabled on the network, or when the printer does not automatically receive an IP Address upon connection.
