Star Micronics Extends Its Kiosk Printer Offerings
Star Micronics America is pleased to introduce the TUP500 kiosk printer. With a compact footprint and support for small paper widths, the TUP500 is a welcomed addition to Star Micronics' kiosk printer line, providing solutions for a wide range of self-service applications.
The TUP500 features a print speed of up to 220mm/sec. and a high reliability at an MCBF of 60 Million Lines. The innovative looping presenter prevents paper jams by printing the receipt in full before providing it to the user. The presenter also uses Star's document capture technology to retract receipts left by the user, resulting in increased document security and a cleaner operation area.
"Star has once again listened and responded to the industry," said Michael Hanson, Vice President, Star Micronics America, Inc. "The TUP500 is truly an adaptable kiosk printer. With support for adjustable paper widths ranging from 45mm-82.5mm and an optional large paper roll holder, plus unique features such as the attention grabbing 2-color LED lights on the bezel it is ideal for a variety of kiosk applications. The Star name guarantees quality that integrators can count on."
The TUP500 features a new innovative bezel (snout) option which can be directly attached to the presenter to capture the user’s attention with programmable 2-color (red & green) flashing LED lights.
When purchasing a TUP500 printer, users will receive all drivers needed for legacy and contemporary applications, including: OPOS, JavaPOS, Linux, XP™, Mac™ OS X.
The TUP500 is available with swappable interfaces for, Serial, Parallel, USB or Ethernet (100BASE-TX/10BASE-T) interfaces. The TUP500 comes standard with a three (3) year limited warranty..

| How do I configure the kitchen buzzer on my SP700?
Answer:
The kitchen buzzer is designed to connect directly to the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. Cuando un trabajo de impresión se envía a la SP700, el timbre emite un sonido. This is beneficial for high-noise environments like kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent to them.
The PDF in the Attachments section of this FAQ contains instructions on enabling and disabling the buzzer. The SP700 is shipped with the buzzer being configured. Users need to only attach the buzzer.
