Recycling

Star Micronics strives to be more eco-friendly every step of the way and encourages following local standards set for the recycling of electronics.

 Printer Products

The disposal process of desktop printers, portable printers and batteries varies from country to country. Kindly refer to the appropriate measures mandating the disposal method of the country in which your Star Printer will be or is currently used.

For Star Portable Printer Owners in the USA and Canada:

The Lithium-Ion batteries used to power Star Portable Printers are recyclable. You can help preserve our environment by returning your used rechargeable batteries to the collection and recycling location nearest you.

For more information regarding recycling of rechargeable batteries,
call toll-free 1-800-822-8837 or visit http://www.rbrc.org/.

 Recyclable Packaging

Every Star Printer ships in a recyclable cardboard box which can be easily dismantled and folded.
The TSP100ECO, the world’s first Dedicated Eco Printer, took this initiative a step further by featuring the removal of polystyrene and Styrofoam packaging. These components were replaced by the same recyclable cardboard. Star invested a lengthy period of testing to ensure that the printer and all of its included peripherals still retain the same quality result for its in-packaging drop test.

Star even released an innovative ribbon for the SP700 Impact Printer allowing one cartridge to be refilled multiple times to promote sustainable use of printer peripherals.

 WEEE

All Star Micronics Printers display the WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) marking. The WEEE directive, created by the European Union, mandates the proper disposal and recycling processes of electronics equipment.
