How to Install a mC-Print2 or mC-Print3 on Windows OS

Introduction:

This application note explains how to install a Star mC-Print 2 or mC-Print3 printer on the Windows operating system (OS) using the USB or Ethernet (LAN) interface.

 

Supported Printers: mc-Print 2, mc-Print 3

Supported Interfaces: USB, LAN

Supported Environments: Windows OS

 

Installing the Driver

Download the printer driver (StarPRNT for mCollection) from the Global Support Website

 

Decompress the downloaded folder and execute “setup.exe”

Follow the instructions of the setup wizard to complete the installation

Installing USB Printer

Plug the printer into the computer and a printer queue is automatically created via plug & play when the mC-Print3 is connected to the Windows PC, enabling you to establish communication.

 

Installing Ethernet Printer

Plug the printer directly into your router.

Print out a self-test to confirm the printers IP address

 

Turn power off: Hold down the Power button on the right side of the operation panel on the front of the main unit for 1 second or more.

Perform Self-Printing: While holding down the FEED button  , press the Power button, and release it  .

Take your hands off the FEED button when Self-Printing has started.

Once you have finished Self-Printing, remove the sheet that was printed.

 

For the MCP31L and MCP30 models, network information is printed following the printer information.

Open the printer utility app (this is installed with the driver)

Select your printer model and click next

Select the Ethernet interface and search.

Click Done. (confirm the IP address is the same as on self-test)

Click on Windows Printer Queue.

Click on Add and then OK.

The printer is added, and you can now test print

The printer prints out a test-page confirming the printer is successfully installed
